How to Update the Plugin Manually from WordPress Backend?

In this article, let’s see how to update plugins manually from WordPress backend.

Step 1:

The first thing you will need to do is, download the latest version of the plugin as an installable zip file. You can find on WordPress.org repository if the plugin was originally downloaded from there. If the plugin is premium, you will need to login to your account and download the plugin zip.

In the case of Astra Pro Addon plugin: Login to our store and open the My Accounts Page where you will be able to download the latest version of the plugin.

Step 2:

Now, temporarily deactivate and delete the currently installed plugin as in the next step, we’re going to reinstall it.

This should not remove any settings you have made or pages created as they are stored in the database. Still, we always encourage everyone to take backups frequently, just in case something goes wrong.

Step 3:

Install the plugin that you downloaded in Step 1.
